The ancestral beings of the Dreamtime are revered by Aboriginal Australians, possibly the oldest continuous culture on Earth. These beings are believed to have created the landscape, the laws, and life during the Dreaming. Their stories are kept in rock paintings, songs, and rituals passed down over tens of millennia.

The Wandjina are ancestral spirits of rain and clouds venerated by the Mowanjum peoples of the Kimberley region, in northwestern Australia. They bring the monsoon and the storms that renew the land and ensure fertility. They are depicted with great faces of dark eyes, ringed by a halo of lightning, and traditionally without a mouth. As The Cloud Spirits, this deity occupies a position of supreme prestige in the aborigenes pantheon.
